About Dr Arjola Kurti

A hair-transplant focus, grounded in UK training.

Dr Kurti undertook her hair-transplant training in the UK and focuses on Follicular Unit Excision (FUE) hair restoration. Her work centres on careful patient selection, donor-area assessment, hairline and graft planning, FUE treatment and the medical care required before and after a hair transplant.

At Tower Bridge Hospital London she works alongside an experienced Turkish hair-transplant team, so patients combine international hair-transplant experience with assessment, a procedure pathway and follow-up care based in a regulated UK clinical setting.

Clinical focus

Hair-transplant focus.

The areas Dr Kurti concentrates on across the hair-transplant pathway.

  • FUE Hair Transplantation

Follicular Unit Excision hair restoration, from planning through to the procedure pathway.

  • Hair-Loss Assessment

Reviewing the pattern and history of hair loss, and whether a transplant is appropriate.

  • Donor-Area Evaluation

Assessing donor density and hair characteristics, and managing a finite donor supply responsibly.

  • Hairline Planning

Planning a natural hairline position and shape for the individual, not a template.

  • Graft Planning

Considering graft requirements and how transplanted follicles should be distributed.

  • Recipient-Area Planning

Planning direction, angle and density across the areas to be restored.

  • Implanter / DHI Techniques

FUE hair transplantation with implanter/DHI techniques where clinically appropriate.

  • Pre-Operative Assessment

The medical assessment needed before a hair-transplant procedure.

  • Post-Transplant Aftercare

UK-based follow-up and clinical review after the procedure.

FUE Hair Transplantation

A follicular-unit approach to hair restoration

FUE — Follicular Unit Excision — is a modern hair-transplant technique in which individual follicular units are harvested from a suitable donor area, usually at the back and sides of the scalp, before being transplanted into areas affected by hair loss.

Unlike traditional strip surgery, FUE does not require removal of a strip of scalp. Instead, follicular units are individually harvested through small circular incisions.

A successful hair transplant is not simply about pursuing the highest possible graft number. Treatment planning needs to consider the available donor hair, the patient’s existing pattern of hair loss, the proposed hairline, future hair-loss progression and how transplanted follicles should be distributed. Dr Kurti’s approach therefore begins with assessment and planning rather than the procedure itself.

Hairline Design & Treatment Planning

A natural-looking hairline should be planned for the individual patient rather than copied from a standard template. Assessment and treatment planning may consider:

  • Existing pattern and extent of hair loss
  • Age and potential future progression of hair loss
  • Donor-area quality and available follicular units
  • Hair calibre, density and characteristics
  • Facial proportions and existing hairline
  • Appropriate hairline position and shape
  • Direction and distribution of transplanted follicles
  • Realistic expectations for density and coverage
  • Preservation of donor hair for future needs

The aim is to create a treatment plan that considers both the immediate cosmetic objective and the longer-term pattern of hair loss.

Donor Area Assessment

Protecting a finite supply of donor hair

The donor area is one of the most important considerations in FUE hair transplantation. Donor hair is finite. Excessive or poorly distributed harvesting can create visible thinning and may reduce the options available if further treatment is required in the future.

Dr Kurti’s hair-transplant assessment considers donor density, hair characteristics, the size of the recipient area and the number of grafts that can reasonably be used. Treatment planning should therefore focus on responsible donor management rather than simply maximising graft numbers.

The FUE Procedure

During an FUE hair transplant, individual follicular units are harvested from the planned donor area. The grafts are prepared and transplanted into the recipient area according to the agreed treatment plan, taking account of factors such as hairline position, distribution, direction and density. Careful management of the follicular units and recipient area is an important part of the treatment pathway.

Dr Kurti works as part of the hair-transplant clinical team throughout the treatment pathway, alongside the hospital’s Turkish hair-transplant team. Her hair-transplant work focuses on patient assessment, FUE treatment planning, donor and recipient considerations, procedure-day clinical care and post-transplant follow-up.

FUE & DHI Implantation

Patients researching hair transplantation often see both FUE and DHI described online, and it helps to use the terms accurately.

FUE refers to the follicular-unit harvesting technique — how grafts are removed from the donor area. DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) is a term commonly used for an implantation approach in which an implanter device is used to place follicular-unit grafts into the recipient area.

DHI is not a completely separate operation from FUE. In practice this means FUE hair transplantation with implanter/DHI techniques where clinically appropriate. The right implantation approach depends on your treatment plan, recipient area, hair characteristics and clinical requirements.

Working With Our Turkish Hair Transplant Team

Tower Bridge Hospital brings together a UK-trained hair transplant doctor and an experienced Turkish hair-transplant team, with treatment delivered in a UK clinical setting and UK-based follow-up. The intention is to pair genuine, high-volume hair-transplant experience with the assurance of regulated care and a local point of contact — before, on the day of, and after your procedure.

Hair Transplant Consultation

Before your hair transplant

A hair transplant should start by establishing whether treatment is appropriate for the patient. During consultation, Dr Kurti can assess and discuss:

  • Pattern and history of hair loss
  • Previous hair-loss treatments
  • Relevant medical history
  • Current medication where relevant
  • Scalp and donor-area characteristics
  • Areas the patient would like restored
  • Expectations from treatment
  • Potential graft requirements
  • FUE treatment planning
  • Hairline considerations
  • Risks and limitations
  • Alternatives where appropriate
  • Recovery and expected hair-growth timeline

Not every patient experiencing hair loss will automatically be suitable for transplantation. Where a medical cause of hair loss needs further assessment or treatment, this should be considered before surgery.

Aftercare & Follow-Up

Hair-transplant care continues after the procedure. Patients should receive clear guidance on caring for both the donor and recipient areas, the healing process, expected shedding and the gradual development of transplanted hair.

Dr Kurti and the Tower Bridge Hospital hair-transplant team provide UK-based follow-up and clinical review, giving patients a local point of contact following their procedure.
