Lymphoedema — persistent swelling, often of an arm or leg — can follow cancer treatment, surgery or occur on its own. With the right assessment and therapy, it can be well controlled. We assess you and deliver a clear management plan.
If your child is seriously unwell — call 999 or take them to A&E. We're a private outpatient service, not an emergency service. The Royal London Hospital (5 minutes' walk) has a paediatric A&E.
What it helps
Lymphoedema is a build-up of fluid when the lymphatic system is overloaded or damaged. It causes swelling, heaviness and skin changes, and — untreated — can worsen and lead to infections. We help with:
How we help
We assess the cause and severity (and rule out other causes of swelling such as a clot or heart problem), then build a management plan that may include manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), compression garments or bandaging, skin care and exercises — and, importantly, teaching you to self-manage confidently.
Joined-up, ongoing care
Lymphoedema is usually long-term, so we focus on control and independence, with reviews to keep you on track. We coordinate with your other teams — including breast and oncology care — and refer promptly if swelling is new or a skin infection needs urgent treatment.
Good to know
You’re seen by GMC-registered clinicians at our CQC-registered Whitechapel clinic. We keep clear, confidential records and, with your consent, share a summary with your NHS GP so your care stays joined up. A chaperone is available for any examination on request, at no charge.
You don’t need to be registered with us, and private care complements — it doesn’t replace — being registered with an NHS GP.
Fees
Consultation and assessment fees are set out on our price list, and any tests or treatments are explained and priced clearly before you go ahead — no surprises. Some services are priced on enquiry; just ask the clinic team.

It can follow cancer treatment (especially lymph-node removal or radiotherapy), other surgery or injury, or occur on its own (primary lymphoedema). We assess the cause carefully.
It’s usually a long-term condition, but with the right therapy and self-management it can be very well controlled, reducing swelling and preventing complications.
A specialised, gentle massage technique that encourages lymph fluid to drain, forming part of a wider treatment plan with compression and skin care.
If the skin becomes red, hot and painful (possible cellulitis), or if swelling comes on suddenly — contact us or seek medical care promptly, as these need swift treatment.
