Depending on what your child needs, they may be seen by one clinician or several, working together:

  • Dr Radka Velitchkova — consultant paediatrician (illness, chronic conditions, growth and development)
  • Dr Gözde Arslan — child & adolescent mental health specialist (CAMHS)
  • Our GPs, including family-medicine specialist Dr Bolat — everyday children’s health and shared care
  • A consultant psychiatrist — supporting ADHD and mental-health treatment where needed

How ADHD treatment works here

Our detailed neurodevelopmental assessments lead to a clear diagnosis. Where medication is appropriate, treatment can be started and titrated by our specialists. Wherever possible we set up shared care with your NHS GP; if shared care isn’t available, ongoing prescribing — including controlled medication — is managed privately between our consultant paediatrician, family-medicine specialist Dr Bolat and a consultant psychiatrist, so your child’s treatment isn’t interrupted.

Safeguarding, consent & joined-up care

The safety of every child comes first

All our clinicians are trained in paediatric safeguarding (child protection) to the level their role requires, hold enhanced DBS checks, and work to national safeguarding guidance and our own safeguarding policy. If we are ever concerned about a child’s safety, we follow our safeguarding procedures and local child-protection pathways.

Consent and who should attend

A parent or legal guardian with parental responsibility should attend with children under 16, and we ask for the child’s and parent’s ID at the first visit. Where a young person is judged able to understand and decide about their own care (Gillick competence), we involve them fully while encouraging parental support.

Chaperones and privacy

A chaperone is offered for any examination, at no charge, and your child’s dignity and privacy are respected throughout. We keep clear, confidential records.

Working with your NHS GP

With your consent, we share relevant information with your child’s NHS GP so their care stays joined up and safe. You can ask for a copy of any letter or result.

What we don’t do here

  • We are not an emergency service. If your child is seriously unwell — struggling to breathe, unresponsive, having a fit, a stiff neck or a rash that does not fade under a glass — call 999 or go to the nearest A&E. The Royal London Hospital (about 5 minutes’ walk) has a paediatric emergency department.
  • We are an outpatient clinic and do not provide hospital admission or inpatient care.
  • We do not provide crisis or emergency mental-health care — our children’s mental health clinic is for planned assessments and reviews.

Being clear about our limits is part of keeping your child safe. If your child needs urgent or emergency care, please use 999, NHS 111 or A&E.
