What this condition actually is.
The men's health clinic at Tower Bridge Hospital London is led by Dr Kishore Bahl, a GMC-registered Specialist Urologist. He assesses and treats erectile dysfunction, Peyronie's disease, chronic pelvic pain, prostatitis, premature ejaculation, low libido and related concerns.
Focal shockwave therapy is one of the treatments available. It is offered where the assessment supports it, alongside — not instead of — investigating the underlying cause.
Consultations are unhurried. You will leave understanding what is happening and what the options are, including the option of doing nothing for now.

How we assess and treat.
Focal shockwave delivers acoustic pressure waves to a defined depth in the treated tissue. In erectile tissue, the intention is to support blood vessel health and local blood flow. It is non-invasive and drug-free, so it can be combined with other treatment rather than replacing it. It is a course-based treatment. Benefit, where it occurs, develops over weeks.

Do I need a referral?
No. You can book a consultation directly.
Will I be examined?
Usually yes, where it is relevant to your symptoms. A chaperone is always available.
Is everything confidential?
Yes. Consultations are private and your records are kept in line with UK data protection law.
Can my partner attend?
Yes, if you would like them to. Some concerns are easier to discuss together, and some are not — either is fine.
What if shockwave is not right for me?
Then we will say so and discuss what is. We do not recommend treatment we do not think will help.
How soon can I be seen?
Appointments are usually available within the same week, and we are open 7 days a week, 9am–7pm. Call 020 7916 0029 for the earliest slot.
What should I bring?
A list of your current medicines, any previous test results or letters, and your questions. If you have had blood tests elsewhere, bring the results — it can avoid repeating them.
Will I need blood tests?
Only if they will help. Depending on your symptoms, the doctor may suggest tests such as testosterone, blood sugar or cholesterol — each is priced before you go ahead.
Can treatment start on the same day?
Sometimes, where the assessment supports it and there is time in the appointment. Often the first visit is for assessment and investigation, with treatment planned afterwards.
