A sudden ‘thunderclap’ headache, a headache with fever and a stiff neck, weakness, confusion or a first severe headache needs urgent care. If this is you, call 999 or go to A&E. Our clinic is for the assessment and management of recurring headaches.

Do I need a brain scan?
Most headaches don’t need one; we arrange imaging only when there’s a clinical reason.
What about medication-overuse headache?
Very common and very treatable — we’ll help you break the cycle safely.
Will you refer to a neurologist?
Yes, where specialist input or newer treatments are needed.
Will I see a GP or a consultant?
This clinic is GP-led: you are assessed by one of our GMC-registered doctors, who arranges tests where they are indicated and refers you on to the right specialist when that is the best next step.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You can book directly with us. If you have a referral letter or previous results, bring them along — they help us avoid repeating tests.
How quickly can I be seen?
