What it is

A reliable, reassuring answer

From 16 weeks we can determine your baby’s sex with high reliability, while also confirming heartbeat, movement and position. It’s a lovely milestone — and a chance for a little reassurance too.

Accuracy & timing

When to come

Sex can usually be determined reliably from 16 weeks; occasionally baby’s position makes it harder to be certain, in which case we’ll offer a short rescan at no extra charge. If you’d like an even earlier answer, a blood-based test can determine sex from around 10 weeks — ask us about NIPT.

More than the sex

A qualified pair of eyes

Because a trained sonographer performs the scan, we also check your baby’s wellbeing. This scan doesn’t replace your NHS dating or anomaly scans, but if anything needs a closer look we’ll explain it and refer you appropriately.

Safe, joined-up care

GMC-registered clinicians, CQC-registered clinic

You’re seen by GMC-registered clinicians at our CQC-registered Whitechapel clinic. We keep clear, confidential records and, with your consent, share a summary with your NHS GP so your care stays joined up. A chaperone is available for any examination on request, at no charge.

You don’t need to be registered with us, and private care complements — it doesn’t replace — being registered with an NHS GP.

What we don’t do here

  • We are not an emergency service. For anything serious or life-threatening, call 999 or go to A&E. For urgent advice any time, NHS 111 is available 24/7.
  • We are an outpatient clinic and do not provide hospital admission or inpatient care.
  • Private care and screening complement, and do not replace, being registered with an NHS GP or national NHS screening programmes.

Common questions

How early can I find out the sex?

Reliably from about 16 weeks by ultrasound. If you’d like to know sooner, our NIPT blood test can determine sex from 10 weeks.

How accurate is it?

Very accurate from 16 weeks with a clear view. Occasionally position makes it difficult — if so, we’ll rescan you shortly at no extra cost.

Does it include a health check?

Yes — our sonographer also checks heartbeat, movement and position, though it doesn’t replace your NHS screening scans.

Can I bring family?

Absolutely — you’re welcome to bring your partner and children to share the news.
