Please empty your bladder just before this scan (the opposite of a tummy scan). A chaperone is always offered, and your consent is obtained before the examination, which is carried out with care. Your scan takes around 15–30 minutes. During the scan a small amount of warm gel is applied and the probe is moved gently over the area. It is painless and there is no radiation.
