Transparent pricing

All fees on our price list.

Our private GP appointments are pay-as-you-go — you don’t need health insurance or a membership, and your GP appointment cost is upfront. Full pricing for all consultations, procedures and reports is published on our price list, with no separate appointment fees on top of quoted prices, and every cost confirmed before any test, procedure or report is started.

Three reasons patients switch

Healthcare that respects your time — and your money.

Vs. NHS

No two-week wait.

The average wait for an NHS GP appointment in London is now over two weeks. Ours is same day, every day, including weekends. When something feels off, you shouldn't have to choose between waiting it out or sitting in A&E for six hours.

Vs. telehealth apps

A doctor who's actually here.

GP at Hand, Livi and other video-only services are convenient until you need an examination, a blood draw, an ECG, or someone to look you in the eye. We see you in person — same building, same doctor, same day. Or by video if that genuinely suits you better.

Fair, upfront pricing

Published prices, no surprises.

Every fee is published in advance, so you know the cost before you book. Same UK-trained, GMC-registered doctors. Same diagnostic standards. Same treatments. We're East London by postcode, not by ambition.

Same-day & walk-in

Need a GP appointment today?

Same-day private GP appointments are available most days at our Whitechapel clinic, and walk-ins are welcome when we have capacity. If you need an urgent GP appointment for something that has just come on — a fever, an infection, pain or a minor injury — you can usually be seen within hours. For acute problems that can't wait, our private urgent care service runs alongside the GP clinic, so you're never far from same-day help at a private clinic in London.

A note from our Clinical Director
“I trained in the NHS. I worked in family medicine, urgent care and A&E for over a decade. I opened this clinic for the same reason most of our patients come through the door: no one should wait two weeks to be heard.”

What a GP appointment covers

Almost everything an NHS GP can do — on your schedule.

Diagnosis & treatment

For common illnesses — coughs, fevers, infections, sore throats, digestive issues, skin complaints, allergies and more. Hay fever injection available during pollen season for severe seasonal symptoms.

Treatments & repeats

Issued and printed during your visit. Repeat treatments arranged for ongoing medications. NHS-equivalent — no premium pricing on the medication itself.

Sick notes & fit notes

Same-day, signed, employer-compliant. For absence from work, fitness to fly, return-to-work plans and insurance claims.

Specialist referrals

Direct, named referrals to consultants across cardiology, dermatology, ENT, gastroenterology, gynaecology, psychiatry and more — with private or NHS pathways depending on your insurance.

Chronic disease management

Ongoing care for diabetes, hypertension, asthma, thyroid disease and other long-term conditions. Reviews, monitoring, blood tests & medication adjustments.

Mental health support

First-line support for anxiety, depression, sleep issues and stress. Onward referral to our in-house psychiatrists and counsellors when appropriate.

Blood tests & diagnostics

Private blood tests in London ordered and taken on site by our nurses, and processed by The Doctors Laboratory (TDL). Results in 24 hours for most panels, plus health screening in London and executive health checks.

Vaccinations & travel medicine

Flu, COVID-19, HPV, MMR, hepatitis, yellow fever, tetanus, travel jabs, malaria prophylaxis & pre-travel consultations.

Child & family GP

Family private GP appointments for adults and children alike — paediatric consultations, baby checks and child health reviews in calm, child-friendly rooms.

3 · Your next steps

A clear plan, agreed with you: a private prescription printed on the spot, blood tests and diagnostics taken on site, a sick note, or a fast, named referral to a specialist. All fees are set out on our price list.

Frequently Asked Questions

Before you book.

Can I get a same-day appointment?

Almost always yes. We hold same-day slots every day, including weekends. The fastest route is to book online for real-time availability, or call us — reception answers around the clock.

Are your GPs really NHS-trained UK doctors?

Yes. Every doctor at Tower Bridge Hospital London is registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and qualified to practise in the UK. Most have NHS backgrounds in family medicine, A&E or urgent care. You can verify any UK doctor's registration on the GMC register.

Will my private GP write treatments and sick notes?

Yes — both during your consultation. Private treatments are accepted at all UK pharmacies. Sick notes and fit notes are signed, dated and employer-compliant. There may be a small additional fee for the treatment itself, which we'll tell you upfront.

Do you accept private medical insurance?

Yes — we work with Bupa, AXA Health, Vitality, Aviva, Cigna, WPA and other major UK insurers. Please obtain pre-authorisation from your insurer before booking so the appointment is covered. More about insurance →

Which tier should I book — Standard, Extended or Premium?

Standard (15 min) is right for a single, focused concern — a new symptom, a treatment, a sick note. Extended (25 min) suits people with multiple issues or a complex medical history. Premium (40 min) is for a thorough head-to-toe review — lifestyle, mental health, family history — and is the closest thing we offer to a full executive consultation.

Can I see the same GP each time?

Yes, when you book. Continuity of care is one of the reasons people leave the NHS for us. You can request a specific GP on every booking through our online system, or just tell reception when you call.

Is this a GP registration, or pay-as-you-go?

Pay-as-you-go. No registration, no contract, no monthly subscription. You only pay for the appointments you actually use. You keep your NHS GP, and we'll always send a summary letter back to them with your consent.

What's the difference between this and your urgent care service?

A private GP appointment is for non-emergency primary care — things you'd normally book your NHS GP for. Urgent care is for something acute that's happened today: fever, pain, infection, minor injury. If you're not sure, call us — reception will route you.

Do you cover Canary Wharf and the rest of East London?

Yes. Our clinic is on Whitechapel Road in Tower Hamlets — a few minutes from Aldgate, the City of London and Canary Wharf, and within easy reach of Wapping, Limehouse and the wider Docklands. If you work in the City or live locally in E1, you can usually see a private GP the same day without travelling to Harley Street. Whitechapel and Aldgate East stations are on the doorstep, with the Elizabeth line close by.

Do you see children and families?

Yes. Our GMC-registered private GPs see adults and children alike — for everyday illnesses, minor injuries, travel vaccinations, health checks and reassurance when you need it quickly. Where a child needs specialist input, we can arrange an onward referral within our own children’s services team.

How quickly can I see a private doctor in London?

Same day, in most cases. As a private clinic in London — a private GP in East London on Whitechapel Road — we hold same-day private GP slots every day, with walk-ins welcome and no referral needed. You can book a private doctor in London online in under a minute, or call reception.

How much is a private GP appointment in London?

At Tower Bridge Hospital a private GP consultation and examination in clinic is £140, a telephone consultation is £70 and a follow-up within one month is £100. A sick note (medical certificate) is £89. Prices are published on our price list and confirmed before anything is done — there is no membership or joining fee.

Can I see a GP privately if I can’t get an NHS appointment?

Yes. You can book a private GP appointment directly with us — you don’t need a referral, health insurance, a membership or to register with us. You keep your NHS GP, and with your consent we send them a summary letter after your visit.

Do you take walk-in patients?

Walk-ins are welcome when we have capacity, so you may be able to see a doctor without an appointment. Because walk-in availability depends on how busy the clinic is, the most reliable way to be seen is to book online for real-time availability or call 020 7916 0029 before you come.

Is the GP clinic open at weekends?

Yes. Our Whitechapel clinic is open 9am–7pm, 7 days a week, including Saturdays and Sundays, and same-day GP appointments are available most days, including evenings and weekends.

Can a private GP give me a sick note or a referral letter?

Yes. Our GPs can provide a signed sick note or fit note for absence from work, fitness to fly, return-to-work plans and insurance claims (a sick note is £89), and can write a named referral to a specialist when it is clinically needed. More about sick notes.

Can I see a private GP online or by phone?

Yes. You can book a secure video or telephone consultation with the same GMC-registered GPs you would see in clinic. A telephone consultation is £70, and prescriptions can be sent electronically where appropriate. See our online GP service.

Can’t get a GP appointment?
