No preparation is needed. Please remove watches and wrist jewellery. We may move the wrist and fingers during the scan to assess the tendons dynamically. Your scan takes around 15–30 minutes. During the scan a small amount of warm gel is applied and the probe is moved gently over the area. It is painless and there is no radiation. You will receive a doctor-led written report, usually the same day or shortly afterwards, with clear advice on any next steps.
