An elbow ultrasound assesses the common causes of elbow pain, especially tennis elbow (common extensor tendon) and golfer's elbow (common flexor tendon), and can also look at the ulnar nerve and bursa. It is used for pain on the outside or inside of the elbow, grip weakness, a suspected tendon problem, or ulnar nerve symptoms such as tingling in the little finger.
